I worked directly with the author, Jon Stone, on this book which was based on the television special which he also wrote. Jon Stone was the director of the Sesame Street television show at the time, and was very particular about how the illustrations should be done. The book features all the main Sesame Street Muppet characters as well as all the main human cast. Kermit the Frog, who was almost never used in Sesame Street books, makes a special appearance. And I used my two children as the two kids talking to Kermit and Grover in one of the scenes (my son, Joe, is in a red cap, and my daughter, Kristen, is in a green coat).
